Trail of The Kings – Lake Toba by UTMB • 2025

An epic trail run competition set amidst the awe-inspiring landscapes of Samosir Island, Lake Toba. We blaze a trail through history and crown the champions like the legendary of King of Batak.

The choice of the name “Trail of The Kings” holds deep historical significance. The Bataknese people, native to the Lake Toba region, have a rich cultural heritage. In the past, these remarkable people were known as kings who forged new communities by blazing trails through the dense forests and challenging terrains of the region.

Runners will navigate through rugged terrains, dense forests, and heritage site, paying homage to the ancient legends that echo through the hills and landscape the largest volcanic eruption site of Lake Toba.

As we read upon the hallowed grounds of the largest volcanic eruption site in the world, runners will embark on a journey like no other. With the 100K category boasting the longest route, participants will navigate through rugged terrains, dense forests, and breathtaking vistas, paying homage to the ancient legends that echo through the hills and valleys.

It’s time to reign supreme on the trails!
